Google changes Allo and Duo app icons yet again before the final release

According to a report by Android Police, Google is changing the icons for Allo and Duo apps. Yes, Google did already change it once over the summer, but that was merely a color exchange between the two apps. This change is for the better.

Almost all of Google’s apps follow a similar design framework, and same goes for their icons. When Google changed the Allo and Duo icons over the summer, they definitely looked better than the ones before. However, those weren’t consistent with other Google apps icons. If you notice most of Google’s apps in the Play Store, almost none of them provide the full name of the app in the app icon. Rather, the icon just purely consists of the app logo. But the old Allo and Duo icons stated the full name of the app. And as you can see, the new icons are updated to show just the logo of the app.

This change could indicate that Google might release the apps sometime soon. We don’t know the exact date, but hold your breath. Google loves surprises.
