Elizabeth Holmes is now gone from Obama’s Ambassadors Program
Elizabeth Holmes the CEO and the founder of Theranos, a blood test and analysis startup have been booted from Obama’s Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE) program. The names of business CEOs and leaders listed under PAGE include Valor Equity CEO Antonio Gracias, FUBU CEO Daymond John, and Airbnb founder Brian Chesky and among many others. Upon closer inspection, Elizabeth Holmes is no longer part of this list. The controversial and legal rattled startup have placed Holmes in hot water after mounting evidence and reports show that her company’s revolutionary blood analysis technology was a sham.
After months of negative press, Holmes spent her days defending her drop-of-blood diagnostics technology and delivered a presentation at the annual meeting of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC). Holmes appeared in front of skeptical doctors and potential investors. Instead of promising to alleviate and address Theranos’ mounting failures, Holmes gave the audience at the AACC a box called MiniLab. It promises to be the turning point for Theranos and a new chapter for the struggling start-up.
Holmes’ absence from the PAGE program is the surest evidence of Theranos’ downfall. Recently, a federal ruling banned Holmes from operating a lab for two years.
