Elon Musk reveals Tesla’s new master plan for the future
If you have been as Tesla obsessed as the rest of the world it should be no surprise that this company is truly revolutionary. Elon Musk released his blue-print plans for the next 10 years on Wednesday night. The plans are called the “Master Plan, Part Deux,” and are basically outlining the crazy future of Tesla.
This release by Musk is not surprising, as nearly a decade ago he introduced the idea of having an electric car that can match the performance of a gasoline vehicle. A car which would define a new era for the motor industry, and it is no surprise that Musk achieved that goal. With the release of Model S, Model X, and now the very affordable Model 3 Tesla has officially set a new standard for the future.
However, Elon Musk is not done with this vision for the world. As he explained that the SolarCity buy would allow him to create the solar-roof he has planned. The roof will store energy in a battery, a green option that has been sought out for years.
But of course Musk had to release a vehicle. The billionaire plans on releasing a smaller/compact SUV and “a new kind of pickup truck.” The truck has been named the ‘Tesla Semi,’ and will have multiple capabilities with its variants. It could work as a heavy-duty truck as well as a transporter.
Recent events have also put Tesla in the spotlight, with several crashes involving Autopilot technology taking place. Musk made sure he addressed this issue by specifically emphasizing the importance Tesla will put on safety and how every vehicle made by Tesla, in the future, will release hardware “necessary to be fully self-driving with fail-operational capability.”
Lastly, Musk introduced the idea of having your cars be fully autonomous. This basically means that you will be able to share your car with other people when it is not in use. In a simpler sense, your car will act like a self-driving taxi and make you money while you are sitting at home.
To end, the summary of the “Master Plan, Part Deux” explains the plans as:
- Create stunning solar roofs with seamlessly integrated battery storage
- Expand the electric vehicle product line to address all major segments
- Develop a self-driving capability that is 10X safer than manual via massive fleet learning
- Enable your car to make money for you when you aren’t using it
This plan is a continuation of Musk’s Tesla master plan, revealed in 2006. And as explained earlier, the first part has played out pretty well and there should be no doubt that Tesla will be able to carry out part two with ease. As the company has proven time and again that they are ready to go the extra mile and provide consumers with quality products, keeping the company on track for success.
